The menu is an inspiring array of traditional dishes that excite the palate with diverse textures and bold flavors. Start your journey with appetizer favorites like the Vegetable Egg Rolls, perfectly deep-fried to achieve a crispy exterior while packing a rich, savory filling. The Pot Stickers deliver a delightful contrast of crunchy skin and tender meat inside, while the Cheese Wontons are a satisfying twist, embracing a creamy, indulgent richness that lingers on the palate.
For main courses, the offerings reveal a masterful balance of richness and subtlety. The famously comforting Preserved Egg Pork Congee is silky and nourishing, blending tender pork with the unique earthy tones of preserved egg for a soul-soothing bowl. Clay pot dishes like the Beef Tendon Brisket Clay Pot Rice provide a deeply flavorful and hearty experience — the tender beef tendon melts delightfully with each bite, accentuated by the fragrant rice cooked to perfection beneath.
Seafood lovers will relish dishes such as the Sweet Sour Pork with Pineapple, where the tangy, sweet sauce beautifully complements the succulent pork, or the sumptuous Salty Egg Yolk Shrimp and Pumpkin, offering a rich umami punch matched with velvety pumpkin. The Fujian Pan Fried Noodles showcase skillful stir-frying, delivering a savory and slightly smoky flavor that is deeply satisfying.
Diners often praise the subtle surprises on the menu — from the unexpectedly refreshing Cucumber Salad to the well-executed folded noodles and rice rolls, such as the Steamed Noodle Roll 斋肠斋肠. These dishes highlight the attention to detail and care put into every plate.

Wanted to try everything on the menu however our stomachs were not up for the challenge. Went in during lunch time and it wasn’t too busy and we were quickly seated. Ordered something from pretty much each section of the menu and each dish had its own unique flavor. The standout for me has to be the green beans and the shrimp pumpkin salted egg dishes. However the other dishes were equally as wonderful. Great environment to dine in and very clean. Also, the waiters there were extremely sweet and welcoming which added on to the overall dining experience. Can’t wait to return to try other dishes off the menu, I’m pretty sure it will taste delicious!
My everyday go to eating place in Sacramento, owner has been in business for 20+yrs, special order, customized events or parties, 80+ seating area, great location next to mall and banks, minutes to William land park and City College. Taste amazing and price is fair, recommended to ALL. Original Chinese Cantonese Tastes.
Fast service and they have some special dishes that I couldn't find elsewhere. They serve southern Chinese/Cantonese food. Worth the wait if there is one. Shouldn't take long.
Good menu with a variety of Cantonese style dishes. The noodles rice rolls were good. The clay pot rice was great too. The best item was weirdly the cucumber salad so that was a nice surprise.
12/2024 lamb stew was a bit tough, Singapore rice noodles were decent. Cute restaurant, good food, and friendly service. Recommended. Highly recommend beef cube with mixed mushrooms, scallops with egg white fried rice, shrimp rolls, and Fujian pan-fried noodles. The squid was decent. The Mongolian beef was salty. Porridge was good.
I visited the Taste of Original many times after they opened for business less than a year ago. The food is so good! As their name says, “Taste of Original”. Many of their dishes are from the traditional Chinese culture. They have those fishes available and have the original delicious tastes. The service we received tonight is excellent as it always is. I like their modern dining room design with the white tables. It gave me a very clean feeling. Once again! I enjoyed my dinner tonight!
It was late for lunch but being hungry I needed a fix. I tried this place for the first and was pleasantly surprised by excellent food and service. I had the House Chow Mien. Everything about it was great. There was a mix of seafood, pork, chicken and beef. It was really tasty. The portion was huge and it came out quick and hot. So happy to find good Chinese in the hood I will absolutely be back soon.
